Gurugram, 27 May: Continuing its enforcement efforts against illegal encroachments on public land, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) carried out a demolition drive along the Multi Utility Corridor in Sector 90, Gurugram. The action was undertaken to remove unauthorised structures obstructing public land and utility spaces.

The enforcement drive was led by DTP, GMDA, R.S. Batth, in the presence of Enforcement Wing officials. During the operation, over 15 illegal shops constructed without permission on public land were demolished. A police team of around 15 personnel was also deployed on-site to ensure smooth execution of the operation and maintain law and order during the demolition exercise.

During the drive, strict warnings were issued to violators and encroachers to voluntarily remove illegal occupations from public land and refrain from carrying out unauthorised construction activities in the area.

GMDA officials reiterated that public land and utility corridors are critical urban infrastructure assets and any illegal encroachment upon them will invite strict enforcement action. The Authority will continue to undertake such drives across Gurugram to safeguard public spaces, ensure planned urban development, and maintain obstruction-free utility corridors.

“GMDA remains committed to protecting public land and ensuring that utility corridors and urban infrastructure spaces remain free from illegal encroachments. Strict action will continue against unauthorised constructions and violations across the city.” – R.S. Batth
