Deptt. of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER appeals to all healthy donors for voluntary blood donation

In view of the weekend lockdown in Union Territory of Chandigarh, Dr. Rati Ram Sharma, Prof. & Head, Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER has appealed to all the healthy donors between the age of 18 years to 65 years to come forward for Voluntary Blood Donation.
Urging everyone to join the noble cause, Dr. Sharma said, “The generous gesture of blood donation will help the patients requiring blood component support in emergency and on regular transfusion support such as; Thalassemia, Hemophilia, pregnant women and cancer patients.”
He further shared that blood can be donated at the Blood Donation Center (Room No.107) at Advanced Trauma Center from 09.00am to 05.00pm including Saturdays. Sundays and Holidays.
Those who have received COVID-19 vaccination can donate blood after 28 days from the date of vaccination, he informed.
