*Empowering Women, Shaping Chandigarh’s Future: Mayor Applauds the Role of CII–IWN*
Chandigarh: The CII–IWN Chandigarh Tricity Chapter Annual Session 2025–26, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry – Indian Women Network (CII–IWN), was held at the CII Northern Region Headquarters, Sector 31 A, Chandigarh, under the theme “Boundless Vision, Bold Future.” The Session served as a platform to deliberate on the expanding role of women in governance, civic leadership, and inclusive urban development, while reaffirming the network’s commitment to shaping future-ready and equitable communities.
A key highlight of the Session was a special interaction titled “Women Shaping the Future of Chandigarh: Leadership, Governance, and Inclusive Growth,” featuring Harpreet Kaur Babla, Mayor, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, who graced the event as the Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker. The interaction underscored the importance of women’s participation in public decision-making, responsive urban governance, and collaborative approaches to sustainable city development.
In her address, she expressed, “Platforms like CII–IWN play a vital role in nurturing women leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals, creating spaces for dialogue, collaboration, and collective progress. It is heartening to witness the enthusiasm, ideas, and commitment of women who are shaping the social and economic future of our city. CII-IWN is providing a meaningful platform to reflect on the transformative role of women in leadership, governance, and inclusive urban growth. Together, we must continue to work towards a more inclusive, empowered, and progressive Chandigarh, where women lead from the front and inspire generations to come.”
The Annual Session also marked the commencement of a new term for the Chapter, reflecting continuity in its leadership and focus. Ms Sakshi Katyal assumed charge as Chairperson for 2025–26, with Dr Lipi Pathak being declared Co-Chair, as the Chapter continues to advance its agenda aligned with the theme of bold vision and inclusive growth.
The programme brought together Ms Ritika Singh, Outgoing Chairperson of the Chapter, Ms Nandini Chaudhry, Chairperson, CII–IWN Northern Region, and Mr Vivek Verma, Vice Chairman, CII Chandigarh, along with the felicitation of past Chairs and Executive Committee members, reflecting a collective commitment to empowering women leaders.
*महिलाओं को सशक्त बनाना, चंडीगढ़ के भविष्य को आकार देना: महापौर ने सीआईआई-आईडब्ल्यूएन की भूमिका की सराहना की*
चंडीगढ़: भारतीय उद्योग परिसंघ – भारतीय महिला नेटवर्क (CII-IWN) द्वारा आयोजित CII-IWN चंडीगढ़ ट्राइसिटी चैप्टर का वार्षिक सत्र 2025-26, CII उत्तरी क्षेत्र मुख्यालय, सेक्टर 31 ए, चंडीगढ़ में “असीम दृष्टि, उज्ज्वल भविष्य” विषय के तहत आयोजित किया गया। यह सत्र शासन, नागरिक नेतृत्व और समावेशी शहरी विकास में महिलाओं की बढ़ती भूमिका पर विचार-विमर्श करने के लिए एक मंच के रूप में कार्य करता है, साथ ही भविष्य के लिए तैयार और न्यायसंगत समुदायों को आकार देने के लिए नेटवर्क की प्रतिबद्धता की पुष्टि करता है।
सत्र का एक प्रमुख आकर्षण “महिलाएं चंडीगढ़ के भविष्य को आकार दे रही हैं: नेतृत्व, शासन और समावेशी विकास” शीर्षक से एक विशेष संवाद था, जिसमें चंडीगढ़ नगर निगम की महापौर हरप्रीत कौर बाबला मुख्य अतिथि और प्रमुख वक्ता के रूप में उपस्थित थीं। इस संवाद में सार्वजनिक निर्णय लेने, उत्तरदायी शहरी शासन और सतत शहरी विकास के लिए सहयोगात्मक दृष्टिकोण में महिलाओं की भागीदारी के महत्व पर जोर दिया गया।
अपने संबोधन में उन्होंने कहा, “सीआईआई-आईडब्ल्यूएन जैसे मंच महिला नेताओं, उद्यमियों और पेशेवरों को पोषित करने, संवाद, सहयोग और सामूहिक प्रगति के लिए स्थान बनाने में महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाते हैं। हमारे शहर के सामाजिक और आर्थिक भविष्य को आकार देने वाली महिलाओं के उत्साह, विचारों और प्रतिबद्धता को देखकर अत्यंत प्रसन्नता होती है। सीआईआई-आईडब्ल्यूएन नेतृत्व, शासन और समावेशी शहरी विकास में महिलाओं की परिवर्तनकारी भूमिका पर विचार करने के लिए एक सार्थक मंच प्रदान कर रहा है। हमें मिलकर एक अधिक समावेशी, सशक्त और प्रगतिशील चंडीगढ़ की दिशा में काम करना जारी रखना चाहिए, जहां महिलाएं अग्रणी भूमिका निभाएं और आने वाली पीढ़ियों को प्रेरित करें।”
वार्षिक सत्र ने चैप्टर के नए कार्यकाल की शुरुआत का भी प्रतीक है, जो इसके नेतृत्व और लक्ष्य में निरंतरता को दर्शाता है। सुश्री साक्षी कात्याल ने 2025-26 के लिए अध्यक्ष का पदभार ग्रहण किया, जबकि डॉ. लिपि पाठक को सह-अध्यक्ष घोषित किया गया। चैप्टर साहसिक दृष्टिकोण और समावेशी विकास के विषय के अनुरूप अपने एजेंडे को आगे बढ़ाना जारी रखे हुए है।
कार्यक्रम में चैप्टर की निवर्तमान अध्यक्ष सुश्री रितिका सिंह, सीआईआई-आईडब्ल्यूएन उत्तरी क्षेत्र की अध्यक्ष सुश्री नंदिनी चौधरी और सीआईआई चंडीगढ़ के उपाध्यक्ष श्री विवेक वर्मा उपस्थित थे। साथ ही, पूर्व अध्यक्षों और कार्यकारी समिति के सदस्यों को सम्मानित किया गया, जो महिला नेतृत्व को सशक्त बनाने के प्रति सामूहिक प्रतिबद्धता को दर्शाता है।
