A Grand Showcase of Strength, Solidarity, and Patriotism: “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Run for Unity” Unites Chandigarh’s Youth

Chandigarh 31st October,2023.In a magnificent display of unity and patriotism, the City Beautiful witnessed approximately 1000 students from various schools and colleges across the region coming together for the “Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Run for Unity.”

The event began with a unity pledge, led by the Governor of Punjab and Administrator U.T, Chandigarh, Sh. Banwari Lal Purohit, alongwith Adviser to the Administrator Sh Dharampal where all vowed to uphold the values of unity and diversity, echoing Sardar Patel’s vision for a harmonious India.who was joined by the officers of the Chandigarh Administration and students from different schools and colleges of Chandigarh, Following the pledge, the Governor flagged off the “Run for Unity,” setting the stage for an unforgettable celebration of the nation’s strength and cohesion.

Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, also known as National Unity Day, marked the perfect occasion to celebrate the indomitable spirit of unity and integration in our diverse nation.

The “Run for Unity” showcased students of all ages uniting to pay tribute to the great leader, Sardar Patel, and to reaffirm their commitment to a united and harmonious India. Against the breathtaking backdrop of Sukhna Lake, the event added a touch of serenity, creating a fitting atmosphere for reflection and solidarity.

Approximately 1000 students from various schools and colleges across Chandigarh came together, highlighting the diversity and richness of the city’s youth.

The run followed a scenic route from Sukhna Lake to the Capitol complex, offering participants and spectators breathtaking views of the natural beauty of the “City Beautiful.”

Among the other present were Sh. Nitin Kumar Yadav , Home Secretary ,Sh Praveer Ranjan,DGP ,Sh. Vijay Namdeorao Zade, Finance Secretary Sh. Hari Kallikkat, Secretary Public Relations, Ms. Hargunjit Kaur, Secretary Tourism, and Ms. Purva Garg, Secretary Education, and other officers of Chandigarh Administration.
