CII Chandigarh Fair 2023 Welcomes First-Time Participants, Adding Fresh Dimensions

Chandigarh, 3 November 2023 — The CII Chandigarh Fair 2023 has opened its doors to states and organisations participating for the first time, infusing new energy and diversity into the event. The Fair is not only about tradition and culture; it’s also a platform for innovation and fresh perspectives. This year, the fair is excited to welcome first-time participants who are adding unique flavours to the event.

Haryana, Jharkhand, and Bihar are among the exciting newcomers to the CII Chandigarh Fair, each bringing their unique offerings and cultural flavours to the table. Adding to the mix, one of these remarkable first-timers is “Chitrakala Art and Craft,” originating from the cultural hub of West Bengal. Indrani Shah, an entrepreneur based out of Kolkata, embarked on her creative journey starting with clay. Her pursuit of post-graduation in art and crafts ignited her passion for ceramics, a dream she had nurtured since childhood. What began as a hobby has blossomed into a thriving business.

“Chitrakala Art and Craft” offers a wide range of ceramic products, including jewellery, home decor, crafted boards, and candles paired with designed plates, cups, mugs, and small pots. What sets them apart is their commitment to high-temperature ceramics, making their products ideal for preserving food. With products starting at just Rs. 80, they offer a unique selection, with ceramic jewellery being a rare find in the region.

Indrani Shah, a first-time participant at the CII Chandigarh Fair, expressed her excitement, saying, “I’m thrilled to be here, eager to gather customer feedback, understand our target audience, and receive responses that will shape our future endeavors. Our ceramic jewelry, already well-received, is a best-seller. We hope that the fair will not only boost our sales significantly but also introduce our unique creations to a broader audience.”

Another notable debutant is “Reza by Lalita” from Rohtak. Lalita, a renowned fashion designer, has brought back the lost art of “Reza” fabric, a non-processed, sustainable, and eco-friendly material that was used for various purposes, including making quilts and clothing for animals.

Lalita’s revival of “Reza” fabric, which predates even desi khadi, has brought back colours like off-white and brown, with the latter being a lost hue that she successfully reintroduced. Her products include sarees, footwear, coats, and home furniture, all made from this remarkable fabric.

Participating in the Chandigarh exhibition for the first time, “Reza by Lalita” has already made a mark in international exhibitions, including the New York Fashion Week and Milan. Lalita’s commitment to eco-friendliness and authenticity is reflected in her product range, which uses natural colours like amla and Chandan.
