Several residents from Ward No. 27 (Sectors 38 West, 39 and 40) joined the Aam Aadmi Party, Chandigarh, in the presence of Mr. P.P. Ghai and Mr. J. Ghai, State Treasurer AAP Chandigarh, along with Mr. Hardeep Singh, Leader of Opposition, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, and Councillor Mr. Yogesh Dhingra.
The residents joined the party under the leadership of Mr. Ajit Singh, stating that they were impressed by the policies and ideology of the Aam Aadmi Party and the corruption-free governance model of Mr. Arvind Kejriwal.
The residents said they were fed up with the policies of the BJP government and expressed concern over the rising prices of essential commodities, including LPG cylinders, which are putting financial pressure on households. They said common citizens are struggling to manage household expenses due to these rising costs.
The women participants particularly appreciated the welfare initiatives of the AAP government in Punjab under Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, especially the proposed financial assistance schemes for women aged 18 years and above, which they said would provide economic support and dignity to women.
