IFEVA and MERI College Take a Major Step Towards Establishing India’s First National EV Park: National EV Park Round Table Meet Receives Strong Industry Support

In a significant step towards making India a global hub for electric mobility and green energy, the International Federation of Electric Vehicle Association (IFEVA), in association with MERI College, Janakpuri, New Delhi, successfully organized the National EV Park Round Table Meet on 1 August 2026.

The event witnessed the participation of more than 100 delegates from the electric vehicle industry, including founders, CEOs, and senior executives from over 40–50 MSMEs representing various segments of the EV ecosystem. The objective of the Round Table Meet was to gather industry inputs and develop a comprehensive roadmap for establishing India’s first integrated National EV Park.

The event was graced by Smt. Kamaljeet Sehrawat, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), as the Chief Guest. In her address, she appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of stronger collaboration among the Government, industry, academia, and innovation ecosystem to accelerate India’s transition towards sustainable mobility and green manufacturing.

along with many other eminent industry leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers, investors, academicians, government representatives, and delegates from across the country.

During the Round Table discussions, participants shared valuable recommendations on EV manufacturing, battery technology, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), EV charging and battery swapping infrastructure, testing and certification, research & development (R&D), startup incubation, skill development, investment promotion, policy support, and industry-academia collaboration.

A proposal was also presented to develop the National EV Park in collaboration with MERI College of Engineering & Technology, Sampla, Bahadurgarh (Jhajjar), Haryana. The proposed EV Park aims to become a world-class integrated ecosystem comprising EV manufacturing facilities, R&D centres, testing and certification laboratories, battery manufacturing and recycling units, EV charging and battery swapping infrastructure, startup incubation centres, skill development facilities, and industry-academia collaboration platforms.

IFEVA informed that all suggestions received during the Round Table Meet will be incorporated into the Detailed Project Report (DPR) to ensure that the proposed National EV Park is developed in line with the current and future requirements of India’s EV industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Shailendra Saroj, Founder and Member, Governing Council, IFEVA, said:

IFEVA has invited EV manufacturers, battery and charger companies, auto component manufacturers, MSMEs, startups, investors, research organizations, universities, financial institutions, and all stakeholders across the country to actively participate in this national initiative.

IFEVA has also appealed to the Government of India and all State Governments to extend policy, institutional, and infrastructure support to this ambitious project so that India’s first integrated National EV Park can become a reality and serve as a landmark initiative for the country’s clean mobility and green industrial future.
