Department of Sociology organized a special lecture on” Social Media and Crisis of Social Relationships Among Youth ” under India’s G20 presidency by Professor H S Bhatti , former Head Department of Sociology, Punjabi University, Patiala. Prof Bhatti highlighted the challenges faced by society due to the influence of social media especially on the youth and emphasized that we need to move away from technology to spirituality and inner understanding of oneself if we want to have better social relationships . Prof Anju Suri in her presidential remarks also focused on the historical and philosophical elements of good communication for healthy relationships in the society.
Professor Anju Suri, Dean, Faculty of Arts presided over the event. Professor Kumool Abbi, introduced the speaker and the theme and Professor Rani Mehta gave the vote of thanks .It was well attended by faculty and students.
