Clear the CHB dues in 05 days to avoid cancelation and eviction from flats

Special efforts were made to recover pending dues of the Chandigarh Housing Board which include:
• List of dues were uploaded on the website
• Online payment facility
• Introduction of payment facility at all the Sampark Ceneters

In view of above, the Chandigarh Housing Board is left with no alternate but to initiate the process for cancellation of allotment of those units who have failed to clear their dues despite repeated opportunities. Once a unit is cancelled, the Allottee is required to vacate it and if the Appellate Authority allows its restoration then the Allottee is required to pay all the pending dues, interest and revival charges also.

During March 2022, Show Cause Notices for cancellation were issued to 11641 allottees. During the month of March, about Rs. 08 crores have been deposited and hence a huge amount is yet to be recovered. Here it is mentioned that 115 allotments were cancelled during the month of November 2019 but further action for getting the flats vacated/sealed could not be taken due to COVID related issues. Most of these alltotees have not yet cleared dues and now actions have been initiated for Eviction/Sealing of these flats, after following the due process.

Yesterday (04.05.2022) an eviction drive was fixed at Small Flats in Sector-56 to seal the five flats who have not cleared the dues and the allotments have been cancelled. During the drive the occupants pleaded for three-four days’ time to clear the dues and gave a written undertaking. Considering the requests, it has been decided to defer the drive of cancellation and eviction of allotments of Small Flats and ARHC Flats for one week. Thereafter, a drive will be undertaken to cancel the allotments and evict the allottees where rent dues are more than Rs. 10,000/-. All the allottees are again requested to clear their pending dues within next 05 days positively to avoid penalty interest and cancellation of their units and eviction from the flats. Here it is clarified that once eviction drive is scheduled the request for additional time to pay the dues will not be entertained.

The payments may be made either at any of the Sampark Center or through online mode by visiting website of the CHB i.e. www.chbonline.in

In case the allottee has already paid some of the amount then he/she may deposit the dues, after deducting the payments they have already made, and for the balance may submit an application with photocopy of payment proof for reconciliation. After required verification, the CHB records will be corrected and the dues lists will be rectified with the corresponding payments. Further in such cases, interest charges will also be reduced as the credit will be given from the date when it was actually paid.
