Two most wanted criminals arrested with illegal arms in Sirsa

Chandigarh, Nov 11 – In a major break-through, Haryana Police has arrested two persons, wanted in a case of shootout in Sirsa district. Police has also recovered 3 illegal pistols and 12 cartridges from them.

Stating this here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson informed that accused, arrested in separate incidents, were identified as Amandeep alias Khalnayak and Rakesh alias Chotu, both from Sirsa district.

Both the accused were wanted in a shootout occurred near the Maruti temple in Sirsa town on September 2, 2020. They alongwith their aides had opened fire at Vishal and his friends and were on the run since then. A case to this effect was registered against them in Sirsa police station.

Preliminary probe reveals that Amandeep was previously been involved in six criminal cases, including attempt to murder, loot, hurt, Arms and NDPS Act. The criminal record of the second accused is being investigated.

Divulving the details, he said that police teams during patrolling had arrested them alongwith illegal arms. While one accused riding on a motorcycle was nabbed near JJ Colony culvert with two loaded illegal pistols and six cartridges, the another most-wanted was arrested from near Rania chungi with recovery of one loaded illegal pistol and three cartridges.

Both were taken into custody and further investigation is underway.
