“Major Anti-Corruption Operation: Haryana ACB Apprehends Inspector and DSP Reader in ₹100,000 Bribery Scandal”

Chandigarh, January 8: In a major blow to corruption, the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has apprehended two of its officials, Inspector Somesh and EHC Ashok Kumar, red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹100,000 in Ambala. This swift and decisive action underlines Director General Shatrujeet Kapur’s ACB unwavering commitment to zero tolerance for corruption, regardless of rank or position. The message is clear: no one is above the law, and the ACB will not hesitate to expose and bring to justice anyone involved in corrupt practices, even within its own ranks. This incident serves as a stark reminder that the fight against corruption requires constant vigilance and unwavering integrity, and the Haryana ACB is determined to lead by example.Giving information about this, the government spokesperson said that the team of Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau had received a complaint that a bribe of ₹100,000 has been demanded by two employees of the Anti-Corruption Bureau in return for filing the complaint. On investigation of the case, it was found that a fake complaint was taken by Inspector Somesh and EHC Ashok Kumar working in Ambala of ACB, which was not authorized, and a bribe of ₹100,000 was demanded from the complainant instead of filing this complaint. After carefully investigating all the facts, the ACB team made a plan to arrest both the accused. After this, both the accused were arrested red-handed by the team of the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau while taking a bribe of ₹100,000. This entire proceeding was conducted with complete transparency in front of the witnesses. In this matter, action is being taken by registering an FIR in the Ambala Police Station of the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau. The matter is being investigated by collecting necessary evidence in this regard. With the arrest of two officers, ACB Director General Shatrujeet Kapur affirmed the Bureau’s commitment to complete transparency and impartiality in tackling corruption, assuring it will remain a continuous endeavor. Appealing to the public, DG Kapur urged them to report any bribe demands by government officials on Haryana ACB’s toll-free numbers: 1800-180-2022 and 1064.
