Book Chronicles the Journey of former Punjab Health System Corporation Director during Covid times
Justice H.S. Madaan (Retd.), Punjab & Haryana High Court and Prof. Laxmi Kanta Chawla, former Health Minister of Punjab released the book, “I & Me: An Unexpected Tryst with Covid Pandemic” today in an event organised at Press Club, Chandigarh.
The Book authored by Dr. Rajesh Sharma, former Director (Procurement), Punjab Systems Health Corporation describes his experiences and the challenges during the crucial phase of Pandemic.

“Having known Dr Rajesh Sharma since last 32 years, he has all good qualities of head and heart and hence Govt gave him the charge of procurement. He has recorded his experiences during the pandemic and the readers will get to know the magnitude of problems and how they were solved. I congratulate him for writing it and hope that coming generations will find it informative,” said Justice H.S. Madaan (Retd.), Punjab & Haryana High Court at the launch event.

Prof. Laxmi Kanta Chawla, former Health Minister of Punjab appreciated the efforts of the health fraternity during the pandemic and said,”Dr Rajesh’s service tenure during and beyond his Govt service is commendable. The sense of service innate in him is always conspicuous. He has earned a reputation of being a selfless medical professional.” “When God is with you, everything works fine. I am happy that I got opportunity to work during Covid times and serve people.
People cremated unknown people abandoned by their own relatives. Even though humanity faced challenges but also saw humane side of the people too.”, she added.

“Instances of selfless service and donations were prominent and how the medical professionals emerged as gods and angels for humanity during Covid times. One has to be honest to write a book and that what speaks about Dr Rajesh Sharma,” said Prof Indu S P Singh at the event.

The book gives intricate details of governance during Covid pandemic. While displaying the service and determination of the people, the book gives a quick view of the challenge and success at each stage of health management so that the facilities are available to the last man.

The book was well received by the gathering which saw the presence of medical professionals from public and private sector, bureaucrats and media personnel.
