Chandigarh: Haryana Government has notified that September 4, 2018 (Tuesday) will be observed as public holiday in the offices, educational and other institutes of the state government, boards and corporations situated in the jurisdiction of the areas of poll of panchayat bye elections on the vacant seats of panches, sarpanches of gram panchayats and Members of Panchayat Samitis, to enable employees to cast their vote.
While stating this here today, an official spokesman said that according to the notification issued by the General Administration Department, the holiday on September 4 would also be observed as holiday under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 in the areas where the election is going to be held.
