Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, Hon’ble Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare presents Ayushman cards *at Ayushman Samvad programme in PGIMER
10 beneficiaries turned lucky as they received their Ayushman cards from Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, Hon’ble Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, at an engaging event Ayushman Samvad, organised with an intent to raise public awareness regarding the government flagship programme PMJAY- Ayushman Bharat, here in PGIMER today.
Speaking on the occasion as the Chief Guest the Hon’ble Minister stated, “It’s really a commendable achievement that under the cashless scheme of Ayushman Bharat, we are able to provide financial assistance of Rs. 05 Lakh to 50 crore beneficiaries and with this, even the poor and destitute are able to afford an expensive and complex treatment for diseases like cancer, kidney ailments, transplants etc. If such scheme wasn’t there, it won’t be possible for those ‘not so privileged’ to have such treatment.”
Urging the support of one and all to promote the scheme, the Hon’ble Minister said, “Over 1,64,000 card have been made in Chandigarh, the treatment amount dispersed till date is Rs.30 crores and the number of beneficiaries is around 37000. This Yojna needs your support so that the needy families get better facilities.”
Earlier Dr. Suman Singh, Director Health Services, Chandigarh Administration commended the government for this innovative initiative of Ayushman Bharat and expressed her commitment to take it forward at a faster pace
in the city beautiful.
The programme was graced by the presence of Prof. Vipin Koushal, Medical Superintendent & Head Dept of Hospital Administration, PHIMER.
Dr. Akshay Jain, Joint Director, NHA threw light on the expanse and reach of the Ayushman
Bharat across the country and shared that the scheme has benefitted huge number of needy people .
Dr Navin Pandey, Department of Hospital Administration, PGIMER informed the house of the tremendous success of this flagship program of Government of India seen at PGIMER in his vote of thanks. He apprised the house that almost 88 thousand patients from different parts of the country have received complex and costly medical Treatments at PGIMER under AB PMJAY. These poor patients have received high end complex treatments such as kidney transplant, knee replacement surgery, complex cardiovascular surgeries and cancer chemotherapy under this scheme which has helped them alleviate their pain and lead a more fruitful life. This was made possible because of AB PMJAY scheme without which these patents would have continued suffering in their lives.
It was an emotional moment as Arun Kumar, a kidney recipient from Udhampur, Ms. Ranjit Kaur, a cancer survivor from Amritsar, Smt. Sunehri, a knee replacement patient, narrated their poignant tales of how Ayushman Bharat scheme helped them in overcoming their financial crunch during stressful medical conditions.
Dr. Shweta Talati from Dept of Hospital Administration.conducted the proceedings of the programme which was well attended by over 200 volunteers.
