Chandigarh dominates Meghalaya by 104 runs in Women’s Senior T20 match

Chandigarh, A fine knock from  Parushi Prabhakar (52) followed by tight bowling spell helped UT girls to record a massive 104-run win over Meghalaya in a Women’s Seniors T20 league match. This is Chandigarh’s second win in five matches played in Vadodara.

Earlier, Chandigarh won the toss and decided to bat first as opener Parushi Prabhakar scored 52 runs off 34 balls with ten fours. Monika Pandey (35) and unbeaten Aradhana Bisht (35) also contributed well in the innings which put 147/3 on the board in the scheduled twenty overs. Palak Rana scored four while unbeaten captain Kashvi Gautam contributed nine runs. In reply, Chandigarh restricted Meghalaya to 43/9. L Tamang (15) was the top scorer. Kumari Shibi (3/11) took three wickets while Parul Saini (2/6) clinched two.

Chandigarh’s next match is scheduled against Tamil Nadu on October 28.

Punjab beats Chandigarh B

Chandigarh, With an inning lead, Chandigarh A registered a win over Himachal Pradesh in a league match of the 3rd Balramji Das Tandon Under-16 Boys Multi-Day Cricket Tournament being played at the Launch Pad Academy in Mohali on Thursday. In reply to Chandigarh A’s 285/8, HP collapsed at 250 runs on day 2. Abhay Singh Gulia and Markandey Panchal took three wickets each. Skipper Aditya Kataria (69) scored a half-century for HP. Chandigarh A scored 82/2 in the second innings.

Meanwhile, in another league match played at the Cricket Institute of Chandigarh (CIC) in Kaimbala, Punjab defeated the Chandigarh B team on the basis of innings lead. Chandigarh B team all out for 104 runs wherein Punjab scored 219 runs .  Sagar Virk played a brilliant innings of 89 runs. Chandigarh B scored 155/5 in the second innings.
