HERITAGE DAY PRESS RELEASE
Upholding the visionary values of our Respected Chairman Sir Dr.Augustine F Pinto, Ryan International School, Sector-31, Gurugram, celebrated the “World Heritage Day” on 17th April, 2021virtually . The journey of the event beganwith evoking the lord through bible verse and lord’s prayer to commemorate this day. Wonderful and melodious prayer songs by the Ryanites followed adding more richness to the event. The guests of honour for this event was Mr G.K Bhatnagar ( Founder President of Sudha Society) and Mr Shankar sahay who was felicitated in a traditional manner by young Ryanites.
On this occasion parents of Students who participated in the virtual assembly were also cordially invited.
World Heritage Day is an annual event celebrated on 18th April every year. It aims to preserve the human heritage and recognize the efforts of all relevant organizations in the field. In 1982, the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) announced, 18th April as the “World Heritage Day”, approved by the General Assembly of UNESCO in 1983, with the aim of enhancing awareness of the importance of the cultural heritage of humankind, and redouble efforts to protect and conserve the human heritage. World heritage is the shared wealth of humankind. Protecting and preserving this valuable asset demands the collective efforts of the international community. This day offers an opportunity to raise the public’s awareness about the diversity of special heritage and the efforts that are required to protect and conserve it, as well as draw attention to its vulnerability. This day is commemorated by various events such as making presentation, writing articles for magazines, etc. Ryan International, Sector -31, Gurugram, too observed this day as a week long drive. Moreover, on 17th April, 2021, this day was observed in a befitting manner with encouraging welcome speeches in diversified Indian languages which further added zeal to this event. This was followed by a wonderful and enriching talk show on the topic “share culture , shared heritage and shared responsibilities “. Followed by glimpse of virtual heritage and shared responsibility and felicitation of olympiad achievers . The need of the hour is to protect our rich cultural heritage and diversity. It is not only a unique thing we possess but is an asset for the upcoming generations. Stress was also given to emphasize on enhancing awareness drives regarding the importance of the cultural heritage of humankind. These precious and motivating words brought great enthusiasm among the Ryanites and each were motivated by the spirit of such words.
After the deliverance of vote of thanks to the honorable guestthe school head Ms N GeetaSrinivasa heartily thanked themfor gracing this important occasion. She reaffirmed the need to observe such days of international importance throughout the year inorder to inculcate a sense of awareness among all. The event concluded with the delightful national anthem sung by all.
