PU Dental Institute celebrates World Orthodontic Health Day
The World federation of Orthodontics has proclaimed May 15 as World Orthodontic Health Day,a day that orthodontists around the world can celebrate and highlight orthodontics. This day marks the signing of WFO’s charter in 1995 during the 4th International Orthodontic Congress in San Francisco.
On Annual World Orthodontic Health Dayan‘Art Competition’ was held by Department Of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at Dr Harvansh Singh Judge Institute Of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Sector 25, Chandigarh. The Theme for the ART competition was “Story relating to Orthodontics OR Your Orthodontic Story. Only Patients wearing braces were invited to participate in the Competition. Further the event are held in three age categories viz below 12 years , 12-18 years and above 12 years. The Winners of the competition were Jyoti, Kriti Gupta, Kashish Sharma, Avni, Tanviand Noorpreet were awarded exciting prizes. There were three consolation prizes which were bagged by Kanika, Ankita and Sanvi.
The world orthodontic health day aims to spread awareness about orthodontic treatment which can be really life transforming for many people who are either shy or have psychological concerns regarding their smile which is result of poor alignment or position of teeth.
