Chandigarh, August 18-
President, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee, Kumari Selja, while giving her reaction to the meeting held between the Chief Ministers of Haryana and Punjab regarding the SYL issue, said that Haryana has been waiting for justice for a long time. She expressed hope that the Chief Minister Manohar Lal will strongly advocate the rights of the people of Haryana and the people of Haryana will get share of their rights.
Kumari Selja said that the SYL issue has been pending for many years. People of Haryana have been waiting for this for a long time. Even in the Supreme Court, this case has been going on for many years. According to the order of the Supreme Court, the Chief Ministers of both the states had to sit down and resolve the issue among themselves. “Even earlier also we had hoped that the Central Government could find a solution when they had their own governments in all three places. Even now, we expect the Chief Ministers to sit together and find a solution that would be in favor of the people of both the states”, she added.
Kumari Selja said that Haryana has been waiting for justice for a very long time. Further, we hope that when the next meeting will be held thereafter the report will go to the Supreme Court, by then some solution should be found so that both states get their share in a good environment.
Kumari Selja said that the people of Haryana, its farmers and the land of Haryana have been waiting for this water for a very long time. Punjab should also consider Haryana as its younger brother, and the water should be shared in a good environment for the benefit of both. For the future, we express hope that the long wait of the people of Haryana will soon come to an end. “We expect Hon’ble Chief Minister Manohar Lal that he will strongly advocate the rights of the people of Haryana and the people of Haryana will get share of their rights”, she said.
