Politics of Protest, Now Credit Grab: AAP’s Opportunism Laid Bare

Chandigarh, 3 April: BJP Chandigarh State Media In-charge Ravi Rawat strongly criticized the Aam Aadmi Party, stating that its recent statements regarding development works in Village Faida expose its opportunistic and contradictory politics.
Ravi Rawat said it is highly surprising that the Aam Aadmi Party, which earlier opposed development works, is now competing to take credit for the same. He clarified that on 13 July 2023, former MP Kirron Kher had formally laid the foundation stone of the concerned bridge in the presence of the then Mayor Anup Gupta. This clearly proves that the foundation of this important development work was laid under the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He further stated that similarly, the bridge project in Village Faida had already been inaugurated earlier, but at that time, leaders and workers of the Aam Aadmi Party opposed it, showed black flags, and tried to obstruct development works. Despite this, the same leaders are now attempting to take credit for the project, which is completely absurd and misleading for the public.
Ravi Rawat said that the conduct of Aam Aadmi Party leaders, including Jasbir Singh Laddi, clearly shows that political gain is their only priority, not public interest. When there was a need to support development, they chose to oppose it, and now when the work is being completed, they are trying to claim credit.
He added that the aware citizens of Chandigarh understand such politics very well and will give an appropriate response at the right time. The Aam Aadmi Party should clarify whether it has any consistent policy or vision, or if it changes its stance based on political convenience.
In conclusion, Ravi Rawat said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has always been committed to development and public service and will continue to work for the overall development of Chandigarh without any discrimination.
