Panchkula: Dr RK Batra, Associate Director of Surgery at Park Hospital Panchkula, represented India in the 7th World Union of Wound Healing Societies Congress 2026, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre in Malaysia.
Often described as the ‘Wound Olympics’, this flagship global gathering marked the 25th Silver Jubilee of the organization and brought together over 5,000 clinicians, researchers, and policymakers from more than 100 countries.
The Congress focused on accelerating the global formal recognition of wound care as an official medical specialty under the theme- Global paradigm shift: wound care specialty and recognition.
