‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ a Historic Step Towards Women Empowerment: Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh | April 15, 2026: A grand and impactful Town Hall conference in support of the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ was organized today by Stree Samarthya Foundation at Rani Lakshmi Bai Mahila Bhawan, Sector 38-C, Chandigarh. The objective of the conference was to create awareness about women’s rights, encourage their participation in politics, and highlight the efforts being made by the Central Government towards women empowerment.
The event was graced by the Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, as the Chief Guest, while the Cabinet Minister of Women and Child Development Department, Haryana, Shruti Choudhry, attended as the Guest of Honour. A large number of women, social workers, and representatives from various organizations participated enthusiastically in the program.
In his address, Nayab Singh Saini described the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ as a historic and transformative initiative for the women of the country. He stated that this Act is not merely a law but a strong foundation for women’s dignity, equal rights, and empowerment. He emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, unprecedented work has been carried out to empower women, the impact of which is clearly visible across all sectors of society.

The Chief Minister elaborated on various welfare schemes launched by the Central Government for women. He termed the ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ campaign as a cornerstone of social transformation, highlighting its role in bringing a positive change in society’s mindset towards daughters. He also mentioned the ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’, which has freed millions of women from smoke-filled kitchens, significantly improving their health and quality of life.
Nayab Singh Saini further said that women today are excelling in every field including the armed forces, administration, education, sports, and politics. Expressing pride over the increasing participation of women, he stated that the government has taken several concrete steps to ensure equal opportunities, including initiatives related to maternity benefits, financial inclusion, and promotion of self-employment.
On this occasion, women who have made outstanding contributions in various fields were honoured, inspiring others to follow their path.
In conclusion, the Chief Minister stated that the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’ will further strengthen women politically and enhance their role in nation-building. He called upon all sections of society to come forward in safeguarding the dignity and rights of women.
The conference proved to be a significant step towards women empowerment and a meaningful effort to expand awareness in society.
