Chandigarh Congress has dared AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal to take some concrete action against six AAP councillors of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation for voting in favour of a company, which was accused of indulging in High level corruption by the top AAP leadership themselves during last Corporation elections.

In a statement issued here today, Rajiv Sharma spokesperson of Chandigarh Congress stated that Arvind Kejriwal and all other AAP leaders tom tommed from every stage during last Municipal Corporation elections that if elected their councillors would remove blatant corruption and open loot indulged in by the BJP in awarding sanitation Contracts to their favourite company. Last week, their six councillors namely  Jaswinder Kaur of ward 1, Suman Devi of ward 4, Poonam of ward 16, Taruna Mehta of ward 18, Prem Lata of ward 23 and Kuldeep Dhalor of ward 26 voted along with the BJP in  favour of the same company, which was accused by top AAP leaders of looting the people of Chandigarh and lowering the sanitation ranking of the city to 66 in the country due to its corrupt activities.

He further alleged that the dubious company reportedly contacted all councillors before the voting day to help them grab the contract. Obviously, the six AAP councillors could not turn down the offer, he added.

Surprisingly, the AAP leadership, who got votes of the people on the plank of providing clean administration has not taken any serious action against the councillors so far. The face saving “show cause notices” sent to the councillors were merely an eye wash to control damage. The silence of top AAP leadership on this issue shows that they could also be a part of the corrupt deal, he stated.

The spokesperson further added that this incident has clearly established that AAP councillors are hand in glove with the BJP  in promoting corrupt entities in Chandigarh, which is nothing but betrayal of faith and trust of the people of Chandigarh.

Chandigarh Congress demands a high level inquiry against the AAP councillors to find out how much money exchanged hands among the AAP leaders, who have handed over the sanitation of  a major part of the city to the controversial company, he asked for.
