BREAST CANCER AWARENESS DAY 2021
Breast Cancer Awareness Day was celebrated on the 29th October 2021 by the Medical-Surgical Nursing (Oncology wing), NINE, PGIMER, Chandigarh, under the theme “RISE: Rally In Supporting, Serving and Screening Everyone”. The chief guest of the occasion was Dr.Divya Dahiya, Additional Professor, Head of General Surgery (Unit-III).
The chief guest emphasized that breast cancer is highly prevalent among women, thus regular screening by Breast Self examination and clinical examination by a doctor can help in early detection and better management.
Mrs. Shruti welcomed the gathering and addressed the concept of PINK RIBBON in breast awareness. Dr. Sushma Saini unfolded the theme of the event and emphasized screening methods of Breast cancer among women. A role play was enacted by students of B.Sc. 2nd year and Post basic 2nd year on the theme.
Dr. Divya (chief guest) and Dr. Karobi Das (Officiating Principal) distributed the Prizes for Poster competition that was held on 28th October ’2021 at NINE in association with Indian Association of Adolescent Health Chandigarh chapter which was evaluated by judges from NINE. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Maninderdeep.
