Health Department, UT Chandigarh Organizes Mega Health Camp at AAM-25 under Swasth Nari, Sashakt Pariwar Campaign

Chandigarh, September 24, 2025:
The Health Department, UT Chandigarh organized a mega health camp today at AAM-25, Chandigarh, as part of the ongoing Swasth Nari, Sashakt Pariwar campaign. The camp was inaugurated by Director, PGIMER, Dr. Vivek Lal, in the presence of Program Officers from the Health Department and faculty members from the Department of Community Medicine, PGIMER.

The camp provided comprehensive healthcare services with the participation of specialists from various medical fields. Special focus was laid on services to improve the health of women and children, including ANC care, immunization, adolescent health, anaemia, NCD screening, and oral health. Kiosks for ABHA and Ayushman Bharat were also set up. Specialists from Medicine, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, ENT, Dentistry, and Psychiatry rendered their services during the camp.

A handheld X-ray machine was deployed for on-the-spot chest X-rays, along with sputum testing and other essential laboratory investigations. Food baskets were also distributed to TB patients as a nutritional support measure, reinforcing the department’s commitment to holistic patient care.

This camp is part of a series of health initiatives launched on September 17, 2025, to provide accessible and quality healthcare to communities. Similar camps were also organized today across 29 AAMs and 18 UAAMs in Chandigarh, benefitting a total of 3,990 people.

The next camp will be held on September 25, 2025, at UAAM, Sector 35, Chandigarh. The Health Department, Chandigarh, thanks the citizens for their enthusiastic participation and urges them to continue availing the wide range of health services at upcoming camps.
