National Institute of Ayurveda, Panchkula Celebrates Guru Purnima with Devotion and Enthusiasm

Panchkula, July 11: The auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima was celebrated with reverence and zeal at the National Institute of Ayurveda (NIA), Panchkula on Thursday, July 10, 2025. The event was organized as part of the institute’s academic and cultural activities by the BAMS 1st professional students.

The celebration commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a soulful Guru Vandana presented by the students to honor and express gratitude towards their teachers.

Dean I/C, Prof. Satish Gandharve, graced the occasion along with Prof. Prahlad Raghu, doctors, and other officials of the institute. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Gandharve highlighted the indispensable role of gurus (teachers) in shaping students’ futures, guiding them academically and personally. Prof. Prahlad Raghu, in his address, compared the teacher’s role to that of a potter, who patiently and skillfully shapes raw clay into a meaningful form, emphasizing the responsibility of mentors in moulding young minds.

Students participated enthusiastically, presenting cultural performances that added color and depth to the celebration. Such programs, the speakers noted, are vital for the holistic growth and personality development of students, reinforcing cultural values and the significance of gratitude towards teachers.

The event concluded on a note of reflection and renewed respect for the timeless guru–shishya tradition. The institute also expressed sincere gratitude to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Sharma, and Dean (Academic & Administration), Prof. Gulab Pamnani, for their constant guidance and support in making the event successful.
