Chandigarh, Chandigarh A team consolidated its position against HP in a league match of Balramji Das Tandon Under 16 Boys Multi Days Cricket Tournament being played at Launch Pad Cricket Academy in Mohali on Wednesday. Chandigarh A won the toss and opted to bat first and declared their innings at 285 for the loss of eight wickets. Unbeaten Markanday  Panchal scored 108 runs while Kuldeep Yadav (61) smashed a half century. Naunihal took four wickets from the opposition side. In reply, Himachal Pradesh were struggling at 80/5 and trailing by 205 runs by the end of the day as Abhay Singh Gulia clinched three wickets from the home side.

 

Meanwhile, at another league match played at the Cricket Institute of Chandigarh (CIC), Kaimbala,  Punjab has gained an 83-run lead over Chandigarh B. Host team won the toss and elected to bat first and were bundled out for mere 104 runs. Daksh Kashyap (26) was the top scorer. Adhiraj Singh Mangat took five wickets for the visiting side. In reply, unbeaten Sagar Virk (76) scored helped Punjab to pile up 187/6 before the stumps were drawn.

UT boys faced three-wicket loss from services at SMAT

Chandigarh, Chandigarh faced yet another defeat from Services by three wickets in a league match of the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy being played in Mumbai. This was the 100th match of the Chandigarh team in the BCCI domestic cricket season.

Earlier, Services won the toss and put UT boys to bat first. Chandigarh was restricted to 127/8 in the stipulated twenty overs. Rajangad Bawa (32) was the top scorer for the side while PS Punia and Nitin Tanwar shared two wickets each from Services side. In reply, Chandigarh failed to cash on the opportunity by leaving opposition 36/4 at one stage  but lower order batters – Lakhan Singh and the unbeaten Pulkit Narang contributed 25 -25 runs each to save the day for their side. Services won the match at the loss of seven wickets in the 20th over. Skipper Mohil Ahlawat (30) was the top scorer. Vishu took the maximum three wickets for Chandigarh.

Chandigarh’s last league match is against Odisha on October 27.
