‘CME cum Workshop on Therapeutic Apheresis and Cellular Therapy’–Curtain raiser
The Department of Transfusion Medicine, PGIMER, Chandigarh is organizing a ‘CME cum Workshop on Therapeutic Apheresis and Cellular Therapy’ in collaboration with the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT), Amsterdam, The Netherlands on 15th & 16th October 2022 at Lecture Theatre-1, Nehru Hospital, PGIMER, Chandigarh which will be conducted in hybrid mode (Physical as well as Virtual).
Eminent national and international experts will share their knowledge and expertise during the scientific sessions at this academic event. This CME cum Workshop will focus on both the clinical as well as transfusion related perspectives of the therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) procedure in various clinical indications. There would be deliberations and discussions on cellular therapy as well, which has application in a wide variety of clinical conditions.
Besides, there would be discussions on advanced topics including Quality aspects, processing & cryopreservation of stem cells, CART – T cell Therapy and mesenchymal stem cell therapy. The ISBT education initiatives and resources to improve transfusion safety will also be highlighted at the event.
There would be dedicated scientific sessions for discussions on the role of the TPE in neurological, renal and liver disorders. The CME cum Workshop will provide an opportunity to the delegates to interact with eminent national and international faculty and also learn about therapeutic apheresis procedures and their clinical indications. Around 125-150 delegates are expected to participate in the event.
