Chandigarh, 14th August, 2018: On the eve of Independence Day, Education Department, UT Chandigarh organized a colorful bonanza at Tagore Theatre, Sector 18, Chandigarh today. The cultural evening was organized in the remembrance of all national unsung heroes who laid their lives for independence of the nation.
Sh. B.L. Sharma IAS, Education Secretary Chandigarh Administration was the Chief Guest during the celebrations. Speaking on the occasion,Sh. Sharma narrated in detail the Sacrifices made by the nation heroes. The colorful programme started off with Vandana presented by the students of Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 32. A group song was presented by the students of Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector 16, Classic Dance was performed by the students of Govt. Girls Model Sr. Sec. School, Sector- 20-B . A Skit on the theme of Swachh Bharat was presented by the students of Govt. Model High School, Sector 49, different Folk Dances were presented by the students of GGMSSS-18, a Patriotic skit was performed by the students of GMSSS, Sector-35 and a dance performance was also performed by Students of Sacred Heart Sr. Sec. School Sector-26. Action song performance was given by the students of DAV Sr. Sec School Sector-15. An energetic Bhangra performance was given by students Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School MHC MM.
The colorful bonanza was attended by, Sh. Rubinderjit Singh Brar, PCS, Director School Education, DDSE, Mrs. Saroj Mittal, DDVE Mrs. Suman Sharma, Mrs Anujit Kaur DEO UT and other Officers of Chandigarh Administration.
