The Department of Agriculture, UT Chandigarh Administration organized a live telecast of the PM KISAN Sammelan event at Community Centre, Sarangpur.

The PM-KISAN is a flagship scheme of the Government of India that was launched in February 2019, by the Hon’ble Prime Minister to provide financial assistance of Rs.6,000/- per year to eligible land-holding farmers. So far, more than Rs.2.42 lakh crores have been transferred to more than 11 Cr PM-KISAN beneficiaries directly to their Aadhaar-linked and DBT-enabled active bank accounts.

The grand PM KISAN Sammelan was held today at Sikar, Rajasthan and jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Hon’ble Union Minister for Chemical & Fertilizers and Health & Family Welfare, among other dignitaries from the Govemment of India and the State Government of Rajasthan graced the event at Sikar, Rajasthan.

Under the esteemed presence of Hon’ble Prime Minister various events took place at PM KISAN Sammelan:-
(i) Release of the 14% instalment benefits to the farmers under the PM KISAN scheme.
(ii) Digital launch of new initiatives of the Ministry of Fertilizers and the Ministry of
Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
(iii) Address of Hon ‘ble Prime Minister to the farmers at the venue.

Sh. Anup Gupta, Mayor Chandigarh, Naveen Rattu, Director Agriculture, Rajiv Tewari, Joint Secretary Marketing Board, Dr Kanwaljit Singh, Joint Director, Animal Husbandry UT Chandigarh and other officials of Agriculture & Animal Husbandry alongwith 300 people from the city watched the live webcast of the PM KISAN Sammelan event at Community Centre, Sarangpur.
