“Meri Matti Mera Desh” Programme in UT Chandigarh
Today Chandigarh NSS Cell, Education Department, Chandigarh Administration has
organised the “Meri Matti Mera Desh” Programme in UT Chandigarh as celebration of
“Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”. Chandigarh NSS Cell, UT Chandigarh is circulate the
direction to 180 NSS Units (18,000 NSS Volunteers) in UT Chandigarh to organized the Tree
Plantation Drive in their Adopted Village as well as in Institution as per the guideline
received from Ministry of Youth Affair and Sports, New Delhi.
Today all the NSS Units in UT Chandigarh has taken “Panch Pran Pledge” of
affirming their commitment to the country. Around 14,620 NSS Volunteer of 85 institution
participated in plantation drive and planted 5,831 siblings in adopted village and in campus.
Today NSS units also honoured ex-army men and person in defence services. In today Tree
Plantation Drive from 3 University’s, 22 Higher Education Institutions and 58 +2 level
Schools in UT Chandigarh. 52 Amrit Vatika develops by NSS Units in their Adopted villages
and NSS Volunteers will take care to Amrit Vatika and will manintance throughout the year.
The NSS Volunteers during the Tree Plantation Drive take selfies and uploaded them to
“Meri Matti Mera Desh” official website, all the NSS Programme Officer and NSS
Volunteers from UT Chandigarh are also register in “Meri Matti Mera Desh” official
website. Around 36 Institution having NSS Units are installed Shilaphalakam in their
institution as per the guideline received from Ministry. Today State Liaison Officer Dr. Nemi
Chand participated in 8 programss today and visited in 5 institutions and 3 adopted villages
and motivated the volunteers and honoured the ex-defence persons under Veero ka Naman.
As per direction of State Liaison Officer Dr.Nemi Chand NSS Units organised programms
involving councillors and persons from community.
