Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT Chandigarh, Sh. VP Singh Badnore today presided over War Room meeting. The meeting was attended by Sh. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator & Sh. Sanjay Kumar Beniwal, Director General of Police at Punjab Raj Bhawan. Sh. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary Home, Sh. KK Yadav, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Sh. Mandip Singh Brar, Deputy Commissioner, UT & Deputy Commissioners of Mohali & Panchkula, Director-PGIMER, Director Health Services & Director Principal, GMCH attended through Video Conferencing.

WAR ROOM DIRECTIONS
1. Director, PGIMER stated that they have 139 covid patients in Nehru Extension Block, out of which 28 belong to Chandigarh, 49 belong to Punjab, 22 belong to Haryana & 13 belong to Himachal Pradesh. Dr. Jagam Ram also stated that they have tested 612 covid samples, out of which 34 belonging to Chandigarh were found positive. Acting Director, GMCH stated that they have tested 433 covid samples, out of which 33 were found positive. Acting Director also stated that out of 182 critical patients admitted in Sector 48 Hospital for different diseases, 152 were found fully recovered and cured. The Acting Director further stated that the positivity rate found by them is 4 to 5%. Dr. Amandeep Kang, Director Health Services stated that they have tested 1,208 covid patients, out of which 72 were found positive. Dr. Kang also mentioned that OPDs in Orthopaedics, Gynae, Dental & Pediatrics have been restored to normalcy.

2. Deputy Commissioner, Mohali stated that they have 869 active cases, Deputy Commissioner, Panchkula stated that they have 334 active cases and Deputy Commissioner, Chandigarh stated that they have 1,085 active cases.

3. The Hon’ble Governor of Punjab and Administrator, UT stated that all medical institutions must try to restore normalcy in OPDs treatment, since the burden of corona cases have substantially come down.

4. The Administrator directed Principal Secretary Health to explore the possibility of strengthening satellite medical centers in various sectors by providing weekly services of specialists’ there from major hospitals including PGIMER, so that there is no over-crowding in the OPDs of PGIMER and other medical institutions. The Administrator also directed that regular fogging, sanitization and cleanliness drive should be undertaken to ensure that there is no outbreak of diseases like Malaria, Dengue or other vector-borne diseases.
