Bhambri scored the first century of the league as Rock Zone dominates Leisure Zone in a thrilling finish

Chandigarh, A brilliant knock from unbeaten Shivam Bhambri (106 runs off 56 balls) helped Rock Zone to outclass Leisure Zone in a thriller on the sixth day of UTCA T20 Domestic Cricket League being played at Cricket Stadium, Sector 16 on Wednesday.  Batting first, the opening duo of Shivam Bhambri and skipper Harnoor Singh contributed 116 runs before Arpit Pannu separated them. Harnoor scored 51 runs off 42 balls followed by Karan Kalia (0) who again bowled by Pannu (2/24) in his very next delivery. Bhambri continued to exploit opposition with five sixes and 11 boundaries. Unbeaten Sanchit Sahu added 14 runs as the team managed 173/2 in the stipulated 18 overs.

Chasing down the target, Leisure Zone could not get off to a strong start against the bowling attack led by Chiragveer Singh Dhindsa (3/26) as the team struggled at mere 95/5. In the last moments of the match, the partnership between Mayank Sidhu (18 runs off six balls) and Surya Narayan (37 runs off 18 balls) with 57 runs off 30 balls brought the team closer to the target but not good enough as the team was restricted at 167/6. Yuvraj Rai (40) was the top scorer for the side. Shivam Bhambri was awarded the Man of the Match.

Earlier the match between Sukhna Zone and Rose Zone was not played in the morning due to wet outfield.
