National Law Fest- Judicial Jive got an enthusiastic start with an Inaugural Ceremony organized in the Law Auditorium, Department of Laws. Hon’ble Member of Parliament Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal was the Chief guest of the ceremony. The ceremony began with the auspicious lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by  Prof. Devinder Singh, Chairperson, Department of Laws.

Prof. Rumina Sethi, Dean University Instructions, enlightened the audience about the importance of companionship, bonhomie and fellowship that is built in students by their participation in plays and other academic and cultural activities.

Prof. Rajinder Kaur, Dean, Faculty of law also addressed the audience and shared her experience of being a student of the Department and she applauded the Department for divulging into extracurriculars and organizing this Law Fest.

Hon’ble MP, Mrs. Harsimrat Kaur Badal, chief guest of the day instilled a spirit of enthusiasm and motivated the students. She had words of immense praise for the Department of Laws, and its continuous contribution to the field of law and policy. She talked about her experience as a female parliamentarian and emphasized on the importance of education for women and the need for more women representation in policy making. She provided the Department with a very generous grant of Rs 10 lakhs and also ensured future assistance whenever required. The vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Professor, Department of laws. Ceremony concluded with the ribbon cutting of Exhibitions and stalls set up in the Department of Laws.

Dr. Manisha garag convened the entire session of Inaugural ceremony.

First day of the event witnessed two sessions of Youth Parliament, workshop on sleepy classes and a special talk by Senior Advocate. In cultural activities, a talent hunt and bhangra competition was organized. This two days fest is throughly drafted and coordinated by prof. Supinder kaur and a core team of students of llb 3 years.
