Chandigarh: A day long flagship event – URJAVARAN themed on ‘Energy Conservation & Decarbonization’ was organized by Chandigarh Chapter of the Indian Society of Heating, Refrigerating and AirConditioning Engineers (ISHRAE) at Hotel Lalit, Chandigarh. The event brought together top experts from across the country hailing from HVACR and allied building industry, architects, builders, Govt officers, Engineers, Developers, Consultants, Contractors offering a unique opportunity to stay abreast of cutting-edge technology and trends while networking with industry professionals and Govt institutions like PEDA, PGI, IISER, SCL, CSIR, IIT Ropar and others.
While delivering the keynote address, Mr. Anant Singh, Convenor, URJAVARAN emphasized the importance of decarbonization initiatives to tackle the challenge of climate change. “A key focus of this conference is on decarbonisation in the air-conditioning and refrigeration industry and creating greater awareness about energy efficiency. He mentioned that collaboration across the building industry is critical to enable and accelerate progress on climate goals.
Mr. Money Khanna, Manager, PEDA informed that the worldwide building sector accounts for about 40 percent of energy-related carbon emissions and buildings remain a major sector that lacks sufficient mitigation policies. He stressed upon the long-standing initiative in energy efficiency should be expanded to building decarbonisation.
He quoted, “Such type of technical-cum-networking-cum awareness conferences create a pathway to all work together to achieve the Net Zero, Sustainability & Decarbonization goals before the target date. Industry collaboration is Important”


URJAVARAN featured insightful sessions and panel discussions on topics such as decoding decarbonisation, integrating passive cooling in urban developments, energy conservation, solar systems, green building and other related topics. Speakers of National repute, including Ashish Rakheja, Vivek Atray Ex IAS, Ar Madhav Raman, Ar Deependra Prasad, Er Ravijeet Singh , and others shared their insights. The delegates took the pledge to meet the goal of Net Zero Decarbonization by 2070 as a goal set by Govt of India.
