Distribution Camp for Aids and Appliances Held Under ADIP Scheme

Chandigarh, August 28, 2024:The Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration, in collaboration with the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), Mohali, successfully organized a distribution camp for aids and appliances under the ADIP (Assistance to Disabled Persons for Purchase/Fitting of Aids and Appliances) scheme today. The event took place at the Community Centre, Sector 19, Chandigarh, and saw the participation of 189 beneficiaries.

The camp was inaugurated by Smt. Anuradha S. Chagti, CSS; Secretary, Social Welfare, Chandigarh Administration, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In her address, Smt. Chagti emphasized the importance of inclusivity and the administration’s ongoing commitment to supporting persons with disabilities. She also highlighted the vital role that such aids and appliances play in enhancing the mobility, independence, and overall quality of life of the beneficiaries.

Ms. Kanika, Junior Manager, ALIMCO was present to oversee the distribution process and ensured that the aids and appliances provided were of the highest quality, tailored to meet the specific needs of each beneficiary.

During the event, 158 beneficiaries, were handed over their respective 267 aids and appliances. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the support provided by the Chandigarh Administration and ALIMCO.

The event concluded on a positive note, with a collective commitment to continuing efforts to empower persons with disabilities in Chandigarh. The Department of Social Welfare, Women & Child Development, Chandigarh Administration, remains dedicated to fostering an inclusive society where every individual, regardless of their abilities, has the opportunity to lead a life of dignity, independence, and equal opportunity. The department also encouraged the beneficiaries to reach out through the Disability Helpline 181 for any further assistance or support.
