Children of Snehalaya Home shine at Chandigarh State Athletic Championship 2024-25 held from 23-26 August at Sports Complex, Sector-7B, Chandigarh.
The children residing in Children’s Home Snehalaya Boys and Girls home have once again brought pride to the Institution with their performance at the Chandigarh State Athletic Championship 2024-25, showcasing their prowess and dedication.Total 30 children residing in home participated in the State Athletic Championship out of which 14 children won Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal.
At Snehalaya Boys Home-39, a Child was honored as Best Athlete, winning 02 Gold Medals in the 50m and 80m race wherein he received a bicycle and scholarship of ₹72,000. Another Childbagged a Silver Medal in 50m race with ₹30,000 scholarship, while a third secured a Bronze Medal in the Triathlon-C event, receiving ₹24,000 scholarship.
The children of Snehalaya Girls Home-15 excelled as well, by winning 01 Gold Medal in 50m race with₹36,000 as scholarship. Two other Children secured Bronze Medals in the 80m and 60m race, each receiving ₹24,000 scholarship. Further, in 4x100m relay, one team won Gold Medal with each member receiving ₹36,000, while another team earned Bronze Medal with ₹24,000 scholarship each.
These achievements are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the children and the Department of Social Welfare for providing unwavering support and guidance which has been pivotal in the success of the children enabling them to excel.
