Violin strings marked 296th Monthly baithak of Pracheen Kala Kendra

The music lovers of city beautiful were treated to a amazing Musical delight by Delhi based promising Violin player Shubham Sarkar on the occasion of the 296th Monthly Baithak Programme organized by Pracheen Kala Kendra here today at M.L. Koser Indoor Auditorium at 6:00 pm onwards. Shubham kept audience enthralled by the sheer and clean beauty of his musical skills. Ustad Akram Khan, Dr. Mahindra Prasad was also present on this occasion.

Todays artist Shubham Sarkar is an acclaimed young Hindustani classical violinist from Delhi, who has got the valuable guidance of Padmashree Pt. Bhajan Sopori and still learning from Dr. Santosh Nahar (Violin Maestro). In present Shubham is also learning gayaki Angh from Vidushi Dr. Mallika Bannerji. He has been awarded as prominent young violinist of India by renowned maestro Padma Bhushan Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt (Grammy awardee) He started learning violin at the age of 11 . Shubham Sarkar has finished his Master’s Degree(MA) in Music (Violin) from Delhi University . Intense training of Tantrakari style has developed his own style of violin Playing. His aesthetic touch on the strings makes listeners connected with his art.

Shubham chose melodic Raga Jog , elaborate with quiet dignity of the methodical and reposeful alap followed by jod jhala. He presented compositions in vilambit laya set to nine matra followed by Madhay laya composition in ek taal . Then he doled out with fast tempo composition in teen taal. Shubham’s sensitive yet controlled handling of the instrument was ample proof to his talent and dedication to music. His concluding famous Bhatiyali Dhun amidst repeated applause, He was ably accompanied by his father Sh. Pradip kumar Sarkar on Tabla.

Secretary of the Kendra Shri Sajal Koser honored the artists and as always offered his gratitude towards media, artists and distinguished audience in making this event a success.
