Boys Hostel no. 8 Panjab University, Chandigarh organised a tree plantation drive. Sh. Avinash Rai Khanna, National Vice-President Red Cross India a prominent social thinker and writer, delivered a lecture regarding value of trees for sustenance of life. Sh Khanna said that trees are natural oxygen centre and can be a very crucial step for protection of environment and healthy life style.
Prof S. K. Tomar, Dean Student Welfare, Prof Ashok Sabharwal, Associate Dean Student Welfare along with various academicians, researchers and students were present to discuss the relevance of plantation of trees for sustainable life styles.
Dr Vishal Sharma, warden of the hostel urged the students to resolve for establishing proper natural oxygen centre in the hostel.
