PU Central Placement Cell organises Interactive Session on “Role of Training & Placement officers for effective placements”

Panjab University (PU) Central Placement Cell today organised an Interaction session on the “Role of Training & Placement officers for effective placements”. More than 45 training and placement officers across various university departments attended the session.
PU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Raj Kumar, interacted with all the training and placement officers wherein the officers discussed the placement practices being followed by their respective departments. The officers shared the data relating to the percentage of students placed, opting for start-ups, and going for higher education.
Prof. Raj Kumar emphasised on promoting more professionalism in conducting the training & placement activities in the departments and encouraging students to be actively involved in such activities. He also emphasised on the involvement of alumni and advised the training & placement officers to make a brochure for their respective departments. He also wished everyone a Happy New Year and hoped that with the coordinated efforts of all the departments, IQAC cell, and the Central Placement Cell would result into a prosperous and successful year in getting maximum number of placements for the students of the university
PU Central Placement Cell Director, Prof. Meena Sharma addressed the officers to focus on both the public and private sector for placements. She encouraged the officers to get actively involved in the various sensitization sessions, workshops, personality development initiatives and placement drive undertaken by the central placement cell from time to time for better results.
PU IQAC Associate Director, Prof. Anuradha Sharma advised the placement officers to maintain proper database for the total number of students placed and going for higher education so that accurate data be provided to various rating agencies
Earlier, the session started with an introductory address by Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha, Associate Director, CPC.The session ended with vote of thanks by Prof Ganga Ram Chaudhary, Associate Director, CPC.
