PGIMER, Chandigarh HOSTS INTERACTION PROGRAMME FOR NEWLY JOINED RESIDENTS
PGIMER was conceived in 1960 as a center of excellence which would endeavor to develop patterns of teaching in post graduate medical education to produce specialists in several disciplines of Medicine and surgery. Since then the Institute has grown in stature and fame to become the largest public sector hospital in the north of Delhi.
The Institute provides a healthy environment for advanced medical education and research. As many as 103 students in MD/MS , 65 students in DM/Mch, 33 students in PhD have joined the Institute in july 2022 session. A welcome address and social interaction program was organized by the institute for the new entrants in the Bhargawa Auditorium today evening as in the institute students came from the different states of India. Here in Chandigarh, most of the student experience change in language, culture, weather and food issues. This function is organised to create an amicable environment for the new students. Prof. Vivek Lal, Director; Dean( Academics & Research); all Heads of the teaching departments; DDA; Sub-Dean( Academics & Research), Registrar and FA, PGIMER interacted with the newly joined residents so that in future during their stay at the institute, if any issue come in,students may contact them. Dr. Vivek Lal said, “Doctors belongs to one of the noblest profession, and people treat doctors as saviour of their lives. I expect all the newly joined residents will live up to the expectation of the people along with their learning path.”
