National conference on Neuro-ophthalmology, 2023 had a grand opening ceremony
yesterday, at Bhargava auditorium of PGIMER Chandigarh under the mentorship of Prof.
Vivek Lal, Director,PGIMER, Chandigarh; Head of the Department of Neurology and the
organizing chairman of NCNO-2023. An exclusive CME was organized on Idiopathic
Intracranial Hypertension- the most common reversible cause of neurological blindness.
Various challenging management aspects were discussed.
It was followed by a series of patient oriented talks and lectures by prominent national
and international faculties
The conference was officially inaugurated by Dr R. Balasubramaniam, Member (HR), Capacity
Building Commission, Govt. of India and Founder of Swami Vivekanand Youth Movement
and Grassroot Advocacy movement, who mesmerized the audience with his words of
wisdom and inspiration. He highlighted theimportance of reaching to the grass root with a
vision of prosperity to all. Other dignitaries present for inauguration included Prof Vivek Lal, Prof Rakesh Sehgal,
Dr Sahil Mehta, Dr Aastha Takkar Kapila and DR Karthik Vinay Mahesh.
Day 2 provided an opportunity for the young neurologists to get a glimpse of the problem
based clinical approach of the various aspects of neuro ophthalmological disorders, their
diagnosis and management protocols.
Keeping up with the modern developments various aspects of advances in and the artificial
intelligence in neuroophthalmoloy were discussed by prominent faculty including Professor
Lakshmi Narasimhan and Prof. Vinny Wilson. The day2 winded up with a nail biting clinic
pathological conference which was discussed by Prof Lakshmi Narasimhan and Prof BD
Radotra
