Mauritius High Commissioner in Australia, Japan and New Zealand visits Sanjay Tandon

Her Excellency Mrs. Marie Claire J Monty, Mauritius High Commissioner in Australia, Japan and New Zealand visited the residence of Sh. Sanjay Tandon, a senior BJP leader & discussed about the Mauritius & India’s relationship as well as the political system, economy and the education system in the 2 countries. She mentioned that it was her first visit to Punjab and its surrounding areas where she visited Golden Temple and Guru Nanak Dev University in Amritsar. She enjoyed the opportunity as guest of honour on Republic Day parade in Sangrur on invitation of Revenue Minister of Punjab. Along with this, she has also addressed the session of students in Lovely Professional University.

During her visit to Mr. Tandon’s house they discussed the economic situation of both the countries and the old relationship of Mauritius with India. She also mentioned about the economic advancement in Mauritius specially in the last one decade. She explained how being a teacher she was invited by political parties to contest in the parliament elections, where she got a chance to serve her country. She also talked about her grand parents roots from PUDDUCHERRY . She also invited Tandon family to visit Mauritius.

Marie Claire is a fan of Indian sweet dishes and especially ‘Gajar ka halwa’ and ‘Laddoos’ which was served to her during her brief stay in Mr. Tandon’s house. Sanjay Tandon gifted her a book titled ‘Sunrays for Saturday’ (a book of 52 short inspirational stories) which is written by him and his wife Priya Tandon. During her stay she appreciated the paintings made by Mrs. Priya Tandon and wished the family good luck for their future.
