Silence increases crime, and encourages criminals too – Mamta Sodha

Addressing the girl students at IGN College, Ladwa and DAV Police Public School, Police Line, Kurukshetra, ACP Mamta Sodha said that silence of the victim on the occurrence of any wrongdoing increases the crime, and encourages the offender too.

She said that society needs to change the mindset towards women. Only by changing the mindset, the country will progress. Parents should give moral values to their children so that they learn to respect women. It is very important for women to be aware of their rights. If women will be aware and immediately report any criminal incident to the police, then crimes against women will reduce and criminals can also be punished. Facilities like Durga Shakti App, Women’s Helpline No. 1091 and Dial 112 have already been provided for women’s safety by Haryana Police.

The staff of DAV Police Public School on the Kurukshetra-Yamunanagar border welcomed all the women cyclists. All the participants were honoured by applying tilak.
