COVID19 Update: Detail of Containment Zones in Chandigarh

WHEREAS vide order No.40-3/2020-DM-I(A), dated 24/03/2020, the Union Home Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India had issued an order under Section 10(2)(1) of Disaster Management Act, stipulating lockdown measures for containment of COVID-19 in the country.

WHEREAS the same order was extended vide letter dated 14/04/2020 to remain in force till 3rd May, 2020 all over the country.

WHEREAS the above lockdown order was extended upto 17/05/2020 by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India vide order dated 01/05/2020.

WHEREAS the above lockdown order has now been extended upto 31/08/2020 by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India vide order dated 29/07/2020.

WHEREAS the above lockdown order has now been extended upto 30/09/2020 by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India vide order dated 29/08/2020.

WHEREAS the above lockdown order has now been extended upto 31/10/2020 by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India vide order dated 30/09/2020.

WHEREAS vide order No.Z.28015/19/2020-EMR dated 30/04/2020, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has included U.T., Chandigarh in the official list of RED ZONE in the country.

WHEREAS the issue of outbreak of COVID-19 in Chandigarh was further studied and examined by a Committee comprising District Magistrate, Senior Superintendent of Police and Director Health Services and a considered view emerged that the following affected zones need to be declared as CONTAINMENT ZONES :-

The undersigned in my capacity as Chairperson of State Executive Committee of State Disaster Management Authority, UT, Chandigarh also direct that regular screening and monitoring of the areas by medical teams will continue. Frequent sanitization of the areas by Municipal Authorities will be conducted and the residents will be advised to strictly maintain social distancing norms, wear masks and follow hand hygiene.

These orders will come into force with immediate effect.
