Chandigarh.1 October,2020:Estate Office has initiated the process of digitization of its record and services. The project began on 15th August 2020. NIC has been made the nodal agency for technological development of the software and its implementation. Sh. Mandip Singh Brar ,DC-cum-Estate Officer, U.T., Chandigarh chaired a meeting on 01.10.2020 at U.T. Guest House to review the progress made in this regard which was attended by the officials of NIC and Estate office. He highlighted that the project will provide transparent, hassle free and time bound services to the citizens of city beautiful.
The citizens will be able to track the movement of their files online and they will be intimated on their registered mobile numbers about every updation in the record. Taking in view the importance of the project, he directed the officials present that the timelines should be followed strictly and the project is to be made operational in a period of 9 months and not later than June 2021. NIC representatives informed that the software for capturing the data from the files has been made. Estate office has already started the work of entering the data in this software. Estate officer further directed that a review meeting will be held fortnightly to monitor the progress of the project.
