Chandigarh Administration celebrated 8th National Ayurveda Day and Dhanwantry Day

AYUSH Department, Chandigarh Administration celebrated 8th National Ayurveda Day and Dhanwantry Day on 10.11.2023 in AYUSH Health & Wellness Centre, Sector 24B, Chandigarh. Shri Ajay Chagti, IAS, Secretary Health graced this occasion as Chief Guest. Shri Akhil Kumar, DANICS, Additional Secretary Health-cum- Director AYUSH, Dr. N.S. Bhardwaj, Joint Director (Ayurveda), Dr.Manju Shree, Assistant Director (Homoeopathy), Dr. Rajiv Kapila, Senior Ayurvedic Physician, Dr. Aarti Verma, Senior Ayurvedic Physician, Dr. Anantjot Kaur, Senior Ayurvedic Physician along with other staff of AYUSH Department also participated in this celebration with great zeal.

During this celebration, worship of Lord Dhanwantry, a Hawan ceremony, an AYUSH Health Camp, medicinal plant exhibition was organized where free medicinal plants were distributed, free Homoeopathic & Ayurvedic medicines were distributed and awareness regarding various AYUSH Public Health Programmes under National AYUSH Mission i.e. KARUNYA (AYUSH Palliative Services), VAYOMITRA (AYUSH Geriatric Health Care Services), AYURVIDYA promotion of Healthy Lifestyle through AYUSH for school children in 300 schools, SUPRAJA (AYUSH Maternal & Neo-natal Intervention) & National Program for Prevention and Management of Osteoarthritis & other Musculoskeletal Disorders was generated. About 200 people including AYUSH staff participated in this event.

AYUSH Department received National Accreditation Board of Hospitals (NABH) Certification for AYUSH HWC, Sector 24 & 27 during a Regional Review Meeting held on 09.11.2023. Secretary Health appreciated the performance of AYUSH staff for award of NABH Certification and motivated AYUSH fraternity to promote AYUSH systems with dedication and hard work so that maximum people can be benefited.
