During the review of COVID vaccination, it has been observed that the second dose of COVID vaccination is overdue in 75526 cases in UT Chandigarh, as per the following details:

Vaccine Type
Prescribed gap from Ist Dose
Number of overdue cases for 2nd dose
COVISHIELD
12 to 16 weeks
75416
COVAXIN
04 to 06 weeks
00110
TOTAL

75526

Hence in 75416 cases where 1st dose of COVISHIELD vaccine was administered more than 16 weeks ago but the second dose is still pending. Similarly, in 110 cases where COVAXIN vaccine was administered more than 06 weeks ago but the second dose is still pending.

Here it is clarified that the primarily COVISHILED vaccine is being administered in Chandigarh but in some cases private hospitals, having branches in Chandigarh, have administered few doses of COVAXIN also.

Each of the person is being separately contacted on the given mobile number and a drive has been undertaken to administer 2nd dose in all the above overdue cases. The UT Administration has sufficient number of vaccines and there is no waiting time for getting the vaccination either for first dose or for second dose.

Here it is also mentioned that the persons who have got 1st dose from Chandigarh and then went to other places, may get their second dose from anywhere in the India and should not delay it further for their return to Chandigarh.

All the citizens are requested to ensure that they have taken both the doses of the CVOID vaccination and also to ensure that their friends/relative/known persons are also covered. Considering that festival season is going on and there are more possibilities of spread of virus, we should get the vaccination done prior to the festival of Diwali positively. However, it should be ensured that second dose of the same vaccine is taken as per the 1st dose.
