Subhash Chander presiding over meeting with nodal officers of the Mission in the State through video conferencing

Chandigarh, Aug 10 – Executive Vice-Chairman, Haryana State Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural and Urban), Mr. Subhash Chander said that Haryana is number one state in terms of registration of students for working 100 hours in villages under Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural). As many as 669 students from district Faridabad have got themselves registered, which is highest in the state.
Mr. Chander was presiding over meeting with Nodal Officers of the Mission in all districts of the state through video conferencing, here today.
He said that with a view to make Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) successful, Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Programme was started under which students would work in villages for 100 hours and make villagers aware about cleanliness so that the Haryana would remain Open Defecation Free (ODF). He directed the nodal officers to ensure uploading the report of works undertaken by the students, on the portal by August 15.
Mr. Chander also directed the nodal officers to submit names of three best students to Deputy Commissioner concerned by August 15 and get them honoured in the district level Independence Day function. If in any case, the students are not honoured on the Independence Day, the Nodal Officers would organise functions in college or institution concerned to honour the students.
He said that under Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Programme, the top three students at university level gets Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000, respectively. Similarly at state level, the top three students are honoured with cash prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 30,000 and Rs 20,000 respectively and at national level with Rs two lakh, Rs one lakh and Rs 50,000 respectively.
He said that the students who are associated with this Mission should also encourage other students to associate so that Haryana could emerge as model in this Mission. He directed the nodal officers to constitute a cluster of eight villages under Unnat Bharat Campaign and to register students to organise programmes for spreading awareness among people regarding social issues such as cleanliness.
