Park Hospital Mohali offers all 3 modalities of robotic knee replacement surgeries
Chandigarh: Park Hospital, Mohali on Friday announced the successful completion of 100 robotic joint resurfacing surgeries.
Addressing a press conference here today, Dr Bhanu Pratap Singh director ortho and robotic joint replacement surgery, said that Park has a state-of-art robotic arthroplasty center of excellence.
He further said that the hospital is also offering free robotic technology to the patients till April 30. The initiative aims to make advanced healthcare accessible to every section of society.
Dr Anil Kapoor Vashisth and Dr Aman Garg, both ortho consultants were also present during the occasion.
Dr Bhanu said “The number of knee replacement surgery is increasing day by day in India. If we look at the statistics, every year more than 2.5 million people undergo this procedure in India,”
With recent advancement in technology, the robotic knee replacement surgery is now being performed in 12-15 minutes with no requirement of blood transfusion, no sutures, no drains. The Surgery is performed with small cuts and the patient can walk after 4 hours of surgery.
