One day workshop held in Chandigarh for capacity building of consumer organizations
Telecom companies have been instructed to create packages without net packages- Vohra

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India TRAI organized a one day workshop in Chandigarh for capacity building of consumer organization groups. Representatives of consumer organization groups and telecom service providers from Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal region were present in the workshop organized by TRAI.
Addressing the workshop, Deputy Advisor Consumer Sector of TRAI Alok Vohra told the participants that what all policies have been made by TRAI in the telecom sector, these new policies should be taken to the telecom consumers through telecom service providers and consumer organizations.
He informed that the system has been further strengthened for registration of consumer organisations, themes set for consumer awareness workshops, procedure set for consumer complaints, curbing unsolicited phone calls and SMS. Vohra said that a new version 3.0 of DND has been released. He said that all telecom companies have also been directed to make special packages without net.
In the workshop, SRO Sushil Kumar Bansal of TRAI Delhi gave information about various procedures taken by TRAI for telecom consumers including the registration procedure of consumer organisations.
Representatives of consumer organisations and telecom service providers participated in the workshop and put forward their suggestions.
